Why do students fail in their studies?

1. Lack of interest.
Usually students are not guided appropriately.  They feel that the subject matter is difficult therefore, become frustrated with it and simply give up.

2. Directionless
Students lack vision and forward thinking. Many of them live in the present thus, fail to plan for their future. Furthermore, a vast number of them would not have envisaged a proper ambition to begin with.

3. Peer influence
Most of the time we are significantly impacted by our peers in terms of what we discuss, how we spend our time and behavioral conduct that evolves from it. Friends can make a person and on the opposite extreme, friends can even break a person. Good positive company motivates one to strive harder and keep one in the right track as friends do help shape ones thoughts in a great way.

4. Failure to practice
Homework should not be construed as being a burden. Its actual purpose is to give oneself sufficient practice in order to master a particular area of study.
Furthermore, it is crucial for students to invest their time daily to revise what had been taught at school for the day.

5. Lack of self-motivation
Motivation can be obtained via two manner. The first being internally motivated whereby, one possesses a clear sense of direction in what they wish to achieve. Their goal is crystal clear as they have developed a burning desire to fuel their mind and soul that would help push them forward.
The second type is the external motivation. This type of motivation usually arises when one attends a motivational talk thus, gets inspired to excel in their undertakings. Furthermore, selecting a role model could also fall into this category.
Both internal and external motivation are crucial in fuelling ones emotions and to keep the spirit uplifted at all times. A high spirited individual commonly does well in his studies.

6. Entangled in love
As a student, you should set your priorities right. Ask yourself about what are your immediate priorities.

Falling in love is not wrong but, the question is, can you manage it? Or, even allow it to spill over thus, causing it to jeopardize your studies? It is wise for you to focus on what is really important for now i.e., to strengthen the foundation for your future life specifically, by rewarding yourself with a good education that in turn opens up avenues for a successful tomorrow.

Perhaps , you could wait a little while before indulging in serious relationships at least, wait until you set foot into the university, or better still, be patient until you begin to fend for  yourself as then, you would have attained the maturity required to make the right decisions for your life.

How to master your subject matter.

Simply follow the 7 easy steps as stated below

1. Select a teacher
Find a good teacher who can understand your issues and is able to simplify the subject matter in the way that you can understand best.

2. Listen well
Listen carefully and do concentrate fully when the teacher teaches.

3. Take notes
Do take down simple notes as the teacher explains. This would help you to recall the  key points  that had been conveyed by the teacher.

4. Revise at home
Go back and revise what was taught for the day in order to  refresh your memory  as repeated recollection of thought would increase your ability to remember what you had learned before.

5.  Practise
Carry out sufficient practise by doing questions on that topic. This allows you to test on the extent of your understanding of the topic as the saying goes “Practice makes perfect”

6. Get it marked
Get your work marked to validate the level of your understanding of the topic. You could mark it yourself if the answer is provided or get someone to mark it for you.  Do ensure if you choose to mark your work by yourself then, you must practice fairness  by ensuring that the work is marked  honestly.

7. Seek for explanation
Approach your teacher or refer to the reference books  to seek for explanation for those questions that you had got mistakes for.

How important is a role of a  teacher?
Most of the time students absolutely depend on their teachers for guidance. It is therefore the teacher’s responsibility to coach and impart the relevant knowledge to their student. A teacher  must make the subject matter interesting and easy for students  to understand.
In  relevance to  this ,the delivery style must be attractive enough for the student to grasp what is being taught.
A teacher must make the class lively in order to attract the students attention.
Students must never ever give up in their quest  to acquire knowledge.
Remember, there are many  individuals out there who are willing to assist.  Therefore, it is  you as a student who must take the necessary initiatives to find a good teacher who suits your needs.

Never Ever Give Up !
There is no student who is stupid. It is simply that  one is  not guided well.
Remember you only need to invest your effort  and time in wanting to better yourself. Some level of sacrifice is required in accordance with the saying,  “ If there is no pain, then there is no gain”. Don’t merely see the pain as pain itself but internalise it as sacrifice for your future well being.
Take note that, when the going gets tough, the tough gets going.
It is you  who decides on the future direction of your  life.
So,  don’t procastinate any longer. Decide right away! Make the necessary sacrifices right now in order to achieve your aspired goals.
I wish you all the best to get started immediately.
Never Say Die! Push yourself forward and break your own limits. You undeniably possess the innate potentials  to break your own record each and every time you try therefore, flap your wings wide and saw high into the sky.
YOU CAN SURELY MAKE IT!

SIMPLE ! 6 steps Formula

S – Select right friends .
As the saying goes birds of a feather flock together. Your friends somehow would influence you. So, it is important to mingle with the friends with the right mind set.

I – Invest your time in doing adequate revision.
Read your textbooks and acquire additional knowledge by referring to reference materials.

M -  Master or teacher leads you forward.
Get the right teacher who can guide you and  make the subject matter easy  to understand. The right master will help ease your study burden as he will teach you the smart way to study.

P- Practice.
Practice plenty of questions. Remember practice makes perfect.

L – Lifestyle
Eat well, take sufficient rest and exercise accordingly. Consume  a balanced diet that contains the necessary vitamins and minerals to keep your body healthy and your brain vitalized.

E- Energize the mind and soul.
Be motivated and inspired to better yourself in every aspect possible . The inspiration in you will keep the fire burning thus push you forward to achieve greater heights in life.

Fight Till Your Last Breath

Failing to plan is tantamount to planning to fail.
Identify your  short, medium and long term goals. Be clear  with your future  life direction. It is always crucial to emphasis the end in mind as then, the journey would not seem difficult.
Continually remind  yourself   of what you wish to achieve end  of the day.  For example, if you are sitting for PT3 exam this year then, be honest with yourself  and set  a target of how many A’s you aspire  to score. Next, write the  aspired  target of yours in large writings on a piece of manila card and stick it on your room wall. Look at it daily so that you constantly remind yourself of what you had pledged  to achieve. Remember! Whatever target you had commtted yourself to will only materialise if you truly internalise it and form strong meaning to it emotionally and psychologically.   Put in all your hardwork , your soul and your entire effort in going after what you had set out for. Believe in yourself absolutely and never ever look back on the challenges . Keep on moving   till you achieve what you had initially targeted for.
